14.3.2017

Over due for an update  here, on 14 March 2017 9:14 am little Jack came into the world. =)

It was a planned cesarean because hevhad been measuring as large on the ultrasound scans, and yes he was big, his birth weight was 10 pound 11 or 4.85kg. I stayed in hospital 5 days, ended uo getting a migraine on night and was totally unablevto communicate with the midwife who was on, don’t know what she thought was going on. Jack is 10 days old now, finally putting on weight, such a cute little boy I have.

A Plan is now in Place

A Plan is now in Place

I have been off work now for almost a week which has been ok, a little boring, have made lots of meals to stash in the freezer.

Early last week we saw an obstetrician, and he went over some stuff gave us some options,  one of which was to wait another week and a bit and have another scan at about 39 weeks, and then make a definite plan, we went with this. The other options at the time were induction at 39 weeks or cesarean section.

Had the scan today, 39 weeks tomorrow,  he was practicing breathing, tummy going in and out (cute!), his head is measuring over 10cm at its widest point… and the estimated weight was 5025g or slightly over 11 pound…  so yes, he has been continuing to go at a consistent rate.

So I get a call from my midwife not long ago, and a cesarean is booked for Monday morning.  This is actually a relief for me as I have been considering both options and was having real difficulty deciding on  which I would pick if given the choice, as both have pros and cons, and I would have been ok with either.

So I’m feeling pretty good, quite calm, but also excited.

Our babys birthday will be one day before his Grandfathers on his Dads side but 60 years apart.

Oh the fun, week 37

Oh the fun, week 37

Today I am 37 weeks, I still have 1 week of work to go. Earlier I  the week I found out that my glucose levels are fine still, however my blood platelets are low, which means they don’t like to give epidurals or do surgical stuff. Today I had another growth scan, babys estimated weight is 4.6kg….. that is over 10pound, there is a +/-15% variance, but that is still big. On Tuesday coming up we are meeting with an obstetrician to go over options…

On a good note, my baby shower is this Sunday =)

5 Weeks Left, and My Father is a D##k

5 Weeks Left, and My Father is a D##k

About 2 weeks ago I had an appointment with an obstetrician,  and he pretty much told me what I thought would happen, idealy I would like things to go naturally, however if baby is too big I will be offered either early induction or a c section, depending on how big he is. He also went over what might happen if baby gets stuck, broken collar bones etc. So on the 24th of February I’m off to have a sizing scan.

I was supposed to have a scan last week but I ended up getting a nasty migraine that wouldn’t subside, my hubby too me to the Dr after 10 hours of it and they jabbed me in the but with pethadine (I think that was it ) it made me sick on the way home, but it did help.

Met up with my step sister last weekend, she is organizing a baby show for me, which is really lovely. l haven’t ever actually been to one as none of my friends have had kids.

When recovering from my awful migraine my Dad rang me, and to be honest I am wondering if he had been drinking, because his call started off with him having ago at me about not visiting him, and yes I haven’t visited since he moved to a city 5 hours drive away,  and my annual leave for the past 3 years has been used trying to get the best chances during ivf… and then recoveing after miscarriags… and if I had gone to visit I couldn’t have stayed at his house because its not his house… and I have only had my driving license for 2 years…  then he started going on about his will… then he started telling me that he wanted nothing to do with my unborn child, his future grandson… so I hung up on him, and had a cry, and txt mum and my husband. I have tried to plan a trip to see Dad, but it never financially worked out and my holidays got used up.

Yeah… less than 5 weeks to go now. Only 3 more at work.

Midwife Visit

Midwife Visit

Saw my midwife on Wednesday,   she is always lovely, she had made up a growth graph, which had  3 lines representing the average and the lower limit and higher limit of normal growth(the 5% and 95% maybe). Our little mans growth was marked with 3 little circles, all distinctly above the top line, he is going to be a big boy, so I am being referred to an obstetrician, just incase there is a need for induction or a c-section. Yes I know that fetal weight estimated buy any means can be wildly inaccurate, but I think being prepared is a good way to be.

She went over my last bloods and suggested I start looking into things like pereneal stretches/massage, then used the doppler to hear the heartbeat which was all good, but was really active, my tummy was jiggling about quite visibly.

Brought some cute things today, just some leggings and a body suit with dump trucks on it  =).

Back

Back

Ok, so I’m back, im not quite sure why I stopped posting, it could have been the migraines I was getting twice a week + or it could have been my tablet was being buggy, either way I got out of the habbit and that was it.

Im 31 weeks now, there have been some ups and downs, my migraines stopped at about 14 weeks, untill Christmas day, then I got 2 I one week again but thats been it. I’ve had 2 bleeds but they were minor and scans showed nothing to worry about. I have had heaps of extra scans, as one early on revealed “debris” in the amniotic fluid, so that ment extra scans. We found out I’m having a boy, and also that he is rather large, so that ment more scans and tests he is currently in the 97th percentile. My midwife if great, keeping an eye on all the potential issues that have been popping up, all my tests are coming back ok which is good, even the 2 glucose tests (was recommended to do both because he is so big).

I have had 2 colds, one of which turned into a sinus infection, the other left me with a cough which I’m just getting over now.

I developed an eye condition known as AZOOR or Acute Zonal Occult Outer Retinopathy, which not much is known about, it means I have circular distortions in my vision.

My hips have been really sore so I am wearing a back and tummy support belt which really helps.

At night because I am normally a back sleeper I wake after about 3 hours sleep on my left side with incredible pain in my ribs and upper back.. this is on going and sucks.

Oh and in the last few days I have learnt a little aboug vericose veins that I am not going to talk about because tmi.

I have nearly finished the baby room! Just need to paint the final wall whicn I had to hold off on because the window needed replacing.

Here are some images of scans and stuff:

Migraines

Migraines

Help me… 3 full on  migraines in 2 weeks, the one on sunday was bad enough for hubby to take me to a+e, not much helps, was given some codine, took that with paracetamol at 3:30am for one last night, no relief untill after 6:30am. Still feeling nauseous,  but hungry.

Had some brown spotting over the weekend…

Went to the Dr yesterday,  he said everything sounds normal, don’t have any appointments for scans yet.

Feeling really awful right now, but thats hormones, big fat juicy pregnancy hormones.

All Good so Far

All Good so Far

Everything is going good, as of yesterday my period is late, there has been no bleeding (I had bled by this time with both my miscarriages). The hpts have been getting darker. I’m going to tell my friend today, she is off to  America at the end of the month to stay with her Dad and have iui done, I hope it works for her =)

My symptoms so far have been minimal, sore right boob when I woke up yesterday, a little bit tired and thats it.
